Patrick Montgomery represents lenders, investors and project developers in a wide range of bespoke project finance transactions, including development, construction, term and bridge loans, tax equity transactions, project development and acquisition and sales of energy projects. Clients value Patrick’s experience in the energy sector and turn to him for advice on procurement, construction and revenue contracts, regulatory compliance, project management, tax benefit monetization, and all phases of a project’s development.
Before joining Mayer Brown as an associate, Patrick interned at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in the office of Commissioner Allison Clements, as well as in the Office of Enforcement and the Office of the General Counsel.

Advised:
- Wells Fargo on a $486 million tax equity investment in a two solar-plus-storage projects located in California.
- KKR on a $100 million development loan facility to be used by a solar project developer in connection with early-stage projects.
- Deutsche Bank and Nomura on a syndicated lending facility to three solar projects in Maryland, Georgia and Pennsylvania, constituting a total $331 million in construction, bridge and term loans with an accompanying $39 million letter of credit facility.
- A financial institution on a $126 million tax equity investment in three battery facilities co-located with existing gas-fired peaker power plants in California.Banco Santander on a $158 million construction, bridge and term loan and letter of credit facility to a solar-plus-storage project located in South Carolina.
