Overview
John (Jack) Murray is an associate in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Real Estate Markets practice. He focuses his practice representing REITS, private equity funds, insurance companies and institutional real estate developers in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings and development projects. Jack routinely represents institutional clients in joint venture developments across several asset classes, including industrial and multifamily.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Jack worked for another nationally recognized law firm in their Washington DC office where he represented large commercial banks and servicers in real estate financing transactions, predominately focusing on multifamily housing acquisitions, refinances, and commercial mortgage backed securities. He has assisted with closing over $500 million loan products nationwide.
Prior to that, Jack worked for a Washington DC based real estate development company where he was responsible for identifying, modeling and acquiring residential and commercial buildings with profitable profiles, as well as underwriting incoming loan deals and expanding private lending operations.
Jack also has extensive experience researching and drafting documents pertaining to various real estate financings, including affordable housing, bond financings, tax-exempt loans and multilayered financings.
