Overview
Grace Kim represents financial institutions that offer a variety of consumer financial products and services. Grace counsels clients on compliance with federal and state consumer finance laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and federal and state prohibitions on unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices (UDAAP). She represents clients in investigations led by a wide range of agencies, such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and state attorneys general offices. Her recent work includes advising companies on complex state licensing requirements and assisting in regulatory due diligence reviews in connection with investments, acquisitions, and other transactions.
Grace is a co-chair of the Asian-American Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group, a member of the NextGen Committee, and a member of the Associates Committee in the Washington DC office. Grace also maintains an active pro bono practice which concentrates on immigration matters.
Grace previously served as an extern for the Hon. Virginia M. Kendall on the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
