Overview
Tariq Javed is an associate in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Intellectual Property practice. He focuses on patent infringement litigation in the federal district courts and the International Trade Commission.
Tariq applies his Masters in Telecommunications and Network Engineering to solve problems for high tech clients such as Maxell, LG Display, Pantech, Mitsubishi, and others. Most recently, Tariq’s patent litigation experience has been concentrated in various aspects of semiconductor and smartphone technologies including standard essential patents (SEPs), Wi-Fi, LTE 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, power management, User Interface, and image processing.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Tariq was a Senior Engineer at Comcast where he worked on numerous telecommunication and software projects. In addition, Tariq was a Judicial Extern for Judge Gregory M. Sleet in the District of Delaware where he gained great insight into the inner workings of one of the busiest patent courts in the US.
