Tom Hunter is a senior associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice of the London office. His practice focuses on advising insurers on complex coverage issues, and also on the defence of claims against professionals. He has also acted on behalf of claimants in construction-related litigation.
Tom has extensive experience in advising insurers on insurance coverage issues arising under a wide range of policies, including FI, Construction, Trustee Liability, D&O, Crime and Civil liability, and PI Policies. He has regularly acted as monitoring counsel in the context of civil proceedings and regulatory investigations involving insured clients (including large listed companies), in a range of different jurisdictions including the US.
Tom has defended claims against accountants, construction firms, solicitors, insolvency practitioners and other financial services professionals. He has experience handling and resolving claims in the High Court as well as via alternative dispute resolution. Tom also has experience in advising banks in relation to insurance aspects of trade credit related transactions.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2019, Tom undertook a secondment to the claims team of a major London insurer.
