Chris Ellis is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance group in Charlotte. He advises banks and alternative lenders on marquee subscription and NAV credit facilities—often multi-billion-dollar transactions that deliver liquidity to top-tier private equity, real estate, and infrastructure sponsors. From the initial term sheet through execution and syndication, Chris brings a steady hand and deep technical command to each stage of the deal.
He is widely trusted by lenders to structure market solutions for complex fund platforms, particularly where investor collateral and fund strategies require tailored approaches.
Chris earned his JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served on the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He serves on Mayer Brown’s Hiring Committee and mentors associates across the firm’s fund finance platform.
