Overview

Tara joined the firm after completing a clerkship with the Honorable Keith P. Ellison of the Southern District of Texas, where she prepared memoranda and drafted opinions on a wide range of civil and criminal matters. Tara received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal and was awarded Dean’s Scholar Prizes in Constitutional Law; Strategic Litigation and Immigration Advocacy; and The Representation of Child Refugee Seekers. She also served as a clinical student in the Harvard Crimmigration Clinic, where she drafted motions in support of federal litigation related to immigrant rights and detention centers. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Emory University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the Lucius Lamar McMullan Award.

Experience

  • Rosa v. Garland, 114 F.4th (1st Cir. 2024). Successfully challenged a Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) decision to deny relief by giving substantial weight to an uncorroborated police report, persuading the First Circuit to vacate and remand the BIA’s decision.
