Maria Rita Dutra is an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in the São Paulo office. Maria Rita’s practice involves acting as counsel and advising clients in domestic arbitration proceedings and in court litigation in Brazil and abroad, in complex matters related to several industries, mainly in the construction and energy sectors. Maria Rita Dutra holds a Master's Degree in Procedural Civil Law and Arbitration from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and is a Certified Mediator of the Portuguese Ministry of Justice.

  • Represented two major international steel and metal companies in an FGV arbitration concerning regulatory matters of the Brazilian electricity power market.
  • Represented a major international insurance company in a CAM-CCBC concerning the responsibility for the collapse of a mining river port in Brazil.
