Priya Desai is an associate in Mayer Brown's Chicago office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Her practice focuses on product liability and environmental matters, including regulated and emerging contaminants, and on intellectual property matters in commercial litigation and arbitration. Priya is involved in developing litigation strategy across various technical matters, and often works closely with fact and expert witnesses. She is also a registered patent attorney and has experience across intellectual property matters in arbitration, litigation, and prosecution stages.
During law school, she conducted legal work at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic at The John Marshall Law School. She also worked at CARPLS, a Chicago-based legal aid agency, as a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Intern, and continued her work at CARPLS after graduation as a PILI graduate fellow. She is involved in several Chicago-area public interest organizations including serving as a member of the CARPLS Professionals Board and Uptown People’s Law Center Board, and serves as an Alumni Class Representative for PILI and an ambassador to All Chicago. She is also a member of the Chicago chapter of the South Asian Bar Association.
