Overview
Guilherme Nitz Cappi is counsel in the Litigation practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in the Rio de Janeiro office, where he has been working since 2005 representing clients before the judiciary, arbitration and corporate chambers. Guilherme has a postgraduate degree in civil procedural law and focuses his practice on civil and social security litigation, serving various pension funds, large industries and oil and gas companies.
Experience
- Representative of the third largest pension fund in Brazil in social security, civil and commercial litigation, also providing consultancy in these areas;
- Arbitration involving oil and gas companies before the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce;
- Representation of a pension fund in litigation concerning a stock option agreement before the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro;
- Consultancy regarding the integration of members of various pension funds, between companies acquired in the market by a holding company;
- Defense of a thesis regarding the absence of liability of the pension funds for the sponsor's liabilities;
- Analysis of Brazilian social security legislation and development of a thesis on supplementation of benefits related to private pension well received by the national courts;
- Representative of several pension funds and companies, managing large files of lawsuits in the judicial and administrative spheres.
