Overview
Christa Bieker is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Consumer Financial Services group. Her practice focuses on representing financial services clients in connection with government investigations, supervisory examinations, and other government requests relating to a variety of consumer finance laws and regulations, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and federal and state prohibitions against unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices. She has experience representing clients in investigations led by a wide range of agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She also counsels clients on compliance with consumer finance laws.
Christa maintains an active pro bono practice which she concentrates on immigration matters. Prior to joining the firm, Christa was an extern for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
