Alexander has acted in a number of patent disputes in both the technology and life sciences sectors, many of which have involved cross-border issues. His experience covers a wide range of technologies, including healthcare, consumer electronics and telecommunications (including standard essential patents). He is a UPC representative.

Patent / Trade Secrets and other Litigation

• Assisted in representation of Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer in multiple German patent infringement cases against leading smartphone manufacturers. The cases involved coordination with parallel German invalidation proceedings and U.S. litigation.
• Assisted in representation of Korean NPE in German SEP litigation against leading smartphone manufacturers. The cases involved coordination with parallel German invalidation proceedings and U.S. litigation.
• Represented one of the world's leading chocolate manufacturers as defendant in patent infringement litigation; case involved monitoring independent evidentiary proceedings, asserting trade secrets, and enforcing trade secrets.
• Representation of a German technology developer in the (re)performance and dispute of a contract for the development of a laboratory information system with the contractual partner.
