WASHINGTON DC – Mayer Brown has once again been named a “Champion for Children” by Children’s Law Center (CLC). This marks the firm’s ninth consecutive year receiving this award, which recognizes the philanthropy of law firms and corporations whose total annual giving to the organization exceeded that of their peers, helping CLC reach more than 5,000 children and families directly – and tens of thousands more through systemic advocacy.

“Our partnership with CLC, a premier nonprofit legal services provider with a proven record of success, ensures our work drives meaningful impact,” said Grace Shie, leader of Mayer Brown’s Global Mobility & Migration practice and CLC board member. “We are proud of what we have accomplished together and of the deep support across the firm to helping children thrive.”

“Mayer Brown makes good on their promise to improve the lives of DC children through their generous financial and pro bono support,” said CLC Chief Executive Officer Judith Sandalow. “We are thrilled to announce Mayer Brown’s ninth-consecutive Champion for Children win. Together, we have ensured more children with disabilities have access to a meaningful education.”

CLC is one of the District’s largest nonprofit legal services providers, working with DC children and families, community partners and pro bono lawyers toward a future where every child can grow up with a strong foundation of family, health, and education and live in a world free from poverty, trauma, racism, and other forms of oppression.
