Mayer Brown partners named 2023 “MVPs” by Law360

Three Mayer Brown partners were named 2023 “MVPs” by Law360. This annual series honors lawyers who have “distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.” Law360 recognized:

Mark Hanchet: “Banking MVP”
Mark is a co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Banking & Finance Litigation group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement, primarily involving financial institutions. Law360 recognized Mark for securing a string of high-profile victories for clients that impact the entire financial services industry.

Brian Kittle: “Tax MVP”
As co-leader of the firm’s Tax practice, Brian represents clients in tax disputes, including in IRS examinations, administrative appeals, and litigation. For the second time, Law360 recognized Brian as a Tax MVP, having played a key role in achieving significant decisions for clients in some of the significant tax cases litigated, which involved transfer pricing, business purpose, and partnership disputes.

Nancy Ross: “Benefits MVP”
Nancy serves as the leader of Mayer Brown’s ERISA Litigation practice. She focuses her practice primarily on the area of employee benefits class action litigation and counseling under ERISA. For the second consecutive year, Law360 recognized Nancy for winning numerous ERISA litigation victories, including obtaining a complete victory on behalf of Yale University in a first-of-its-kind jury trial in an ERISA class action suit.
