Mayer Brown announced that New York Banking & Finance partner Ann Richardson Knox and London Banking & Finance partner Aimee Sharman have been appointed to the Fund Finance Association’s (FFA) Advisory Council in the US and EMEA regions, respectively.

Ms. Knox, the global leader of Mayer Brown’s Fund Finance team and the leader of the New York Banking & Finance practice, will serve on the US Advisory Council. She focuses her practice on structuring complex leveraged financings to US and global private funds, sponsors and portfolio companies while representing both financial institutions and funds. Her vast experience encompasses financings at every level of the capital stack and every phase of a fund’s existence. She has served as the co-head of FFA’s Women in Fund Finance US Committee since its inception, and earlier this year received the association’s 2021 “Dee Dee Sklar Women in Fund Finance Award.”

Ms. Sharman will serve on the EMEA Advisory Council. She has a broad client base across multiple fund and asset classes, acting for both borrowers and lenders on a wide range of financing products across the fund finance sector. Her extensive experience includes advising on bridge financing, GP support or co-investment facilities, fund of funds financing, NAV/asset backed facilities or hybrid facilities and preferred equity solutions.

FFA is a non-profit industry association in the fund finance market. Advisory Council members will work with the various committees on regional initiatives such as the mentorship program, make recommendations on improvements or potential new opportunities for the FFA, and act as an advocate for the association.
