London — Mayer Brown has been named one of the most family-friendly employers in the UK by the work-life balance charity Working Families. The firm was recognized in the prestigious and competitive list of Top 30 Employers for Working Families 2021. Now in its twelfth year, the list includes large and small employers from the public, private and third sectors.

Employers were assessed using Working Families’ Benchmark and scored on four key areas to build a comprehensive picture of their flexible and family-friendly policies and practices that support mothers, fathers and carers.

"The past 18 months have been challenging for us all and at Mayer Brown there has been a huge focus on staying connected with each other and ensuring that those with families and care responsibilities are aware of the additional benefits, support and services that the firm has provided to help everyone get through some very difficult times," said Sally Davies, London managing partner at Mayer Brown. "We are delighted once again to be recognized as a Top Employer for our continued efforts to embed family (in the widest sense of the word) and carer-friendly work practices deep into our culture."

“The support the firm gives, not just to parents like me, but to all those with caring responsibilities outside of the workplace, ensures that we can thrive both at work and at home, and is intrinsic to our inclusive workplace culture," said Andrew Block, Employment & Benefits-Pensions partner and co-chair of the London Work & Me Network at Mayer Brown. "I am particularly proud and grateful for the work of our affinity networks, which have worked collaboratively with each other and with different parts of the firm to support colleagues, especially during the pandemic. Being named a Top Employer for the sixth consecutive year is testament to their efforts and to the firm’s commitment to providing a workplace that understands the needs of carers and families.”

"After an incredibly difficult year for employers and employees alike, we’ve been blown away by the high standard of this year’s entries," said Jane van Zyl, CEO of Working Families. "If anything, it’s been more competitive than ever, as more and more employers realize just how vital it is to offer flexible, family-friendly policies and a positive, inclusive culture to attract the most diverse talent. I’d like to congratulate each and every worthy member of our Top Employers list 2021.”
