Mayer Brown appoints John Nadolenco to lead Los Angeles office

Mayer Brown appointed John Nadolenco as managing partner of the firm’s office in Los Angeles, effective July 1. Mr. Nadolenco succeeds partner Phil Recht, who led the office since 2009 and will continue to serve as a co-leader of the firm’s Public Policy, Regulatory & Political Law practice.

“John is an exceptionally talented litigator who has held a number of key leadership roles at Mayer Brown, and is highly regarded in the Los Angeles business community and throughout the firm,” said Mayer Brown Chair Jon Van Gorp. “Building upon Phil’s tremendous momentum, John’s vision and energy will continue to enhance our core capabilities on the West Coast to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Mr. Nadolenco joined Mayer Brown in 1995 and has a robust legacy of leadership success. He previously served as a member of the firm’s Partnership Board and as co-leader of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He also headed the firm’s Consumer Litigation & Class Actions practices. He is a highly-regarded litigator whose civil litigation and trial practice focuses on high-stakes cases and class action defense. Notably, he served as lead counsel in Spokeo, Inc. v. Robins, in which the US Supreme Court decided in favor of the firm’s client, making it harder for plaintiffs to bring no-injury lawsuits. Mr. Nadolenco also recently secured one of the year’s largest judgments in California for Rostack Investments Inc.

Mr. Nadolenco is an active leader in the Los Angeles area. He served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Los Angeles. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Trustees, including as chair, of Viewpoint School in Calabasas for over 13 years and serves on the Alumni Board for American University.
