Grant Uhler is an associate in Mayer Brown's Chicago office and a member of the Employment & Benefits practice. He represents and counsels companies on issues involving employee benefits and executive compensation.

Grant’s practice includes advising clients regularly regarding the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and on designing, drafting, amending and administering tax-qualified retirement plans, equity-based compensation plans and agreements, health and welfare benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, offer letters, employment agreements and separation agreements. He often advises clients on matters including income and FICA taxation of executive compensation, equity-based incentives, and fringe benefit arrangements, Internal Revenue Code Sections 409A and 280G, payroll reporting and withholding obligations, and all aspects of regulatory compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA and COBRA.

Grant also has particular experience advising clients regarding various cross-border tax, payroll, benefits, compensation and employment matters related to the assignment or transfer of employees inside and outside of the United States.
