Sydney Royer is an associate in Mayer Brown's Houston office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Sydney served as a law clerk to the Honorable James L. Dennis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and assisted Chief Judge Lynn when she sat by designation on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Sydney received her JD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. During law school, Sydney served as a publishing editor for the California Law Review, a senior articles editor for the Asian American Law Journal, and a student-volunteer in the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, where she and another law student represented their client in his hearing before the California Board of Parole and in his successful appeal. Sydney also participated in Berkeley Law’s Death Penalty Clinic and was a summer law clerk at Texas Defender Service.
