Overview
Sydney Royer is an associate in Mayer Brown's Houston office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Sydney focuses her practice on drafting critical motions and appellate briefs. She has experience representing clients at all major stages of litigation, including in trial, at arbitration, and on appeal.
Sydney maintains a broad litigation practice, with experience in a wide range of industries and practices including, for example, securities litigation, copyright litigation, ERISA litigation, insurance and insurance coverage disputes, First Amendment litigation, environmental tort litigation, oil and gas disputes, and general commercial disputes.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Sydney served as a law clerk to the Honorable James L. Dennis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and assisted Chief Judge Lynn when she sat by designation on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Sydney received her JD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was a member of the California Law Review.
