Mayer Brown announced that Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Bronwyn Pollock (Los Angeles) was selected to the Daily Journal's 2020 “Top Women Lawyers” list, which highlights top-performing women lawyers in California and their high-profile legal work.

A co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, Ms. Pollock is an experienced litigator who has appeared before numerous federal and state courts and arbitrators. Most recently, she secured dismissals for Bird Rides Inc. in cases filed by plaintiffs who alleged violations of civil rights and disability laws. “We have opportunistic plaintiffs trying to come at us with what they perceive to be a novel application of the Americans with Disabilities Act,” she told the Daily Journal.

In her capacity as the practice group leader for the Los Angeles office, Ms. Pollock has helped build a diverse team. Within the LA litigation practice, 50 percent of all lawyers and 36 percent of the partners are women; nine percent of the lawyers self-identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community; and 31 percent self-identify as ethnically or racially diverse. In addition, 100 percent of the incoming class for the LA litigation practice is diverse. Ms. Pollock also is a member of the Global Advisory Board of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.

“It became a priority to me that the old way of recruiting for the firm needed to change,” she said. “Instead of looking chiefly at schools and grades, I wanted to build diverse associate classes reflecting the community at large.”
