Supply Chain Compliance & Reputational Risk: Dynamic Times Call for Dynamic Measures

分享

As part of our continuing Supply Chain & Distribution series, a panel of Mayer Brown partners from Asia, Europe and Washington DC provide insights on the latest trends in:

  • Non-financial supply chain risks and their role in corporate reputation and bottom-line impact across industries and jurisdictions;
  • COVID-19’s impact on these trends; and
  • How dynamic times not only create new dynamic risks but opportunities to embrace dynamic measures to protect and grow corporate value.

The panel will use human rights in the supply chain as a real-world example of the Venn diagram of overlapping risks that is the foundation of any company’s social license to operate, with highlights on:

  • Legislation and regulatory risk, with a deep dive on the leading French Duty of Vigilance Law;
  • The role of political risk, with an update on the United States’ recent use of trade enforcement tools targeting forced labor in the supply chain;
  • An illustration of commercial risk and the case for corporate responsibility in the increasing expectations and opportunities related to ESG investing; and
  • Legal framework and litigation risks in this time of dynamic supply chain movement.

Just as in-house legal and compliance teams face increased expectations, expanding stakeholders and tightening budget belts, this panel offers an opportunity to see around corners to emerging risks and trends, while also providing practical insights and benchmark learnings from our work with clients to not only mitigate risk but proactively identify opportunities for both effectiveness and efficiency.
