João Pedro Coutinho Valle

João Pedro Valle is an associate in the Corporate & M&A practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in the Rio de Janeiro office. João Pedro has experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganization operations involving domestic and foreign companies from several markets, such as oil and gas, agribusiness, energy, logistics, insurance and reinsurance. His practice also includes analysis and elaboration of corporate acts and commercial contracts, continuous advice to companies and investment funds on corporate matters, besides the coordination and participation in due diligence.

In addition, João Pedro is a member of the African Desk of Mayer Brown, together with Gonçalo Falcão and Paulo Rage, specialized in advising local and international clients in operations in the most diverse jurisdictions in Africa, mainly in Lusophone and Francophone countries, in acquisition operations and corporate, regulatory and banking reorganization, especially in the oil and gas, mining, financing and insurance sectors.

• Participation in advising Grupo Energisa on the acquisition of 100% of the shares issued by Gemini Energy S.A., for approximately USD 150 million.
• Provided advisory during the acquisition of Maha Energy by Petrorecôncavo for USD 138 million.
• Participation in advising the Nestlé Group on the acquisition of 100% of the capital of Grupo Puravida's companies.
• Pro Bono: Assistance to Tênis da Lagoa Project in restructuring its bylaws and providing general corporate advice. Winner of the Transactional Matters of the Year 2023 Mayer Brown LLP Awards.
