Gabriel Steffens

Gabe’s practice spans complex joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, fund formation, and operating company investments and transactions. His experience covers multiple sectors including industrial and logistics, housing, self-storage, office, retail and various alternative asset classes.

Prior to joining the firm, Gabe served as General Counsel for a leading alternative investor and operator in real estate with a particular focus in SFR, and as Global Head of Legal for one of the world’s largest real estate investors and operators. In these roles, he oversaw legal strategy across multi-billion-dollar investment portfolios, led negotiations on marquee transactions, and advised C-suite executives and boards of directors on governance, compliance, and risk management.

He has structured and closed numerous significant transactions, including take-private deals of platforms valued in excess of $1 billion, the formation and capitalization of multiple private equity real estate funds with values in excess of $10 billion, and the acquisition, financing, and disposition of major commercial real estate portfolios from several million dollars to values in excess of $3 billion. His joint venture work often involves sophisticated co-investment arrangements and programmatic platforms with domestic and international capital partners, including sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors.
