Isabella Payne

Clients rely on Isabella Payne for guidance navigating the complex regulatory landscape governing consumer financial products and services. She helps banks, nonbank lenders, and other financial institutions comply with federal and state consumer finance laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and prohibitions on unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices (UDAAP). Isabella also assists clients in responding to state and federal regulatory enforcement matters.

In addition to her regulatory practice, Isabella advises clients on project finance and securitization transactions, including ERISA issues in asset-backed securities offerings.

Isabella is committed to pro bono service, representing clients in U visa and asylum matters.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Isabella gained government experience at the US Department of Justice, the US Senate, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. She received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served on the executive board of the Georgetown Law Journal of Gender and the Law.
