Sarah Martin is an Associate in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. In particular, Sarah is a member of the firm’s ERISA litigation practice, and focuses on defending benefit plans, plan sponsors, and ERISA fiduciaries in class actions alleging fiduciary breaches, prohibited transactions, statutory violations, and other claims involving retirement, health, and welfare plans.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Sarah worked as a Senior Policy Advisor within the U.S. Department of Labor. In that role, she served as the lead advisor to leadership on the Department’s enforcement programs. Sarah also worked in the regulatory and policies groups supporting the Employee Benefits Security Administration and Wage and Hour Division. In that role, she advised on the Department’s regulatory priorities, developed regulations from the information collection through final rule stage, and drafted sub-regulatory guidance, including opinion letters.
