His recent experience includes:
- Supporting senior executives in hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, alongside parallel investigations by the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission involving competition, consumer protection, and technology platform issues.
- Directing strategy for a global food company responding to a congressional inquiry relating to COVID-19 and supply chain impacts.
- Advising the board of a privately held real estate investment company in connection with a Senate Banking Committee investigation concerning private home sale transactions.
- Supporting a private equity-backed hospital system in responding to a Senate Homeland Security Committee investigation regarding emergency department management and patient safety.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Jonathan worked in government relations for a major US airline and in all three branches of the federal government, including positions in the US Senate, the White House, and the Department of Justice Antitrust Division. On Capitol Hill, Jonathan spent six years working for Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), first as Chief Counsel and then as Chief of Staff. In that capacity, he advised the Senator on her work as a member of the Judiciary and Commerce Committees and provided guidance on policy issues including technology, telecommunications, intellectual property, media, and transportation.
Jonathan began his legal career as a law clerk on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, following his graduation from the University of Chicago Law School.
