Scott D. Ashton

Scott Ashton is a partner in Mayer Brown’s London office and a member of the Capital Markets practice. Scott has a broad practice focusing on cross-border securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and restructurings. Scott represents issuers, underwriters and placement agents in connection with a variety of capital markets transactions, including private placements and public offerings of debt and equity.

Scott has experience representing issuers who make private placements of securities to institutional investors. In addition to traditional model form transactions, Scott is a member of the Loan Market Association (“LMA”) working group on private placements that developed the LMA private placement documentation.

Scott advises clients from various industries on infrastructure project financings, including energy, renewables, shipping and transportation. He is also known for advising on debt amendments and restructurings.

Scott has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer for Capital Markets: Debt in its Global, Europe and UK guides.
