Mayer Brown announced today that Chicago partner Joe Seliga, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Government practice and Projects & Infrastructure team, and his wife Vanessa Vergara, received the 2022 Cultural Champions Award from the Chicago Cultural Alliance at its MOSAIC gala.
“Vanessa and I are committed to supporting cultural organizations in Chicago, because we believe that you cannot know where you are headed without first understanding where you came from,” said Mr. Seliga.
Mr. Seliga and Mrs. Vergara are lifelong Chicagoans who regularly support centers of cultural heritage and cultural institutions in the Chicago area. Mr. Seliga commits his time to various cultural organizations and not-for-profit institutions, including serving on the boards of the Chicago History Museum, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Civic Federation.
The Chicago Cultural Alliance is the only organization of its kind in the US, representing over 40 Chicago-area cultural heritage museums, centers and historical societies. Its programming and services celebrate diversity, preserve history and honor tradition while amplifying cross-cultural collaboration.
