Mayer Brown advised Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) on its long-term Time Charter Party (TCP) Agreement for a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) with the Polish Gas Transmission System Operator, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. (Gaz System), the project developer and operator behind the future LNG terminal.

This venture, facilitated through MOL’s subsidiary, signifies the strategic collaboration between MOL and Gaz System towards bolstering Poland’s energy security. This will also be the first FSRU to be deployed in Poland, positioning it as a significant contributor to Europe’s energy landscape.

Nick Kouvaritakis, global head of LNG, commented: "We are delighted to have helped MOL conclude what is a significant transaction for MOL and also a significant transaction for European energy security. “

Our cross-border LNG team was led by partner Nick Kouvaritakis and included partners Richard Nelson (London) and Sean Prior (Singapore), registered foreign consultant Matthew Chow (Hong Kong), senior associates Kieran Mclaughlin (Singapore) and Wei Wei (London), and associate Ling Ern Seow (Singapore).
