Our next NextGen event is “The Future of Tech: Separating the Hype from the Valuable” with keynote speaker,
Dr Stephanie Hare, a researcher, broadcaster and author working across technology, politics and history.
In her talk, Stephanie will dispel some myths about the emerging technologies the world can't stop talking about and shine a light on technologies that are receiving less hype – yet are possibly more consequential for the future.
Stephanie regularly appears in news and print media (e.g. BBC, the Financial Times, CNN, the Guardian) as a technology expert and last year published her first book, Technology Is Not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics, which considers how to create and use tools and technologies to maximise benefits and minimise harms and includes research on how biometrics, surveillance, and big data affect our civil liberties and rights in the digital age.
