Peter Parten, senior associate, is experienced in drafting high value domestic and international construction contracts for a wide range of clients, including asset owners, lenders, developers and contractors. He assists clients at all stages of their projects from procurement and structuring through to execution and completion.


Domestic (non-contentious)

  • Assisting a FTSE 100 listed developer on multiple office refurbishment and mixed-use development projects in London, including significant developments in Shoreditch, Aldgate and Paddington.
  • Advising an investment fund providing forward funding for a c.£90m build-to-rent scheme in Bath and assisting with the construction aspects of the subsequent refinancing.  
  • Advising on the construction aspects of a number of corporate and asset acquisitions, including the purchase of the “Walkie Talkie” building at 20 Fenchurch Street for c.£1.3bn (a record-breaking property transaction) and the purchase of Old Spitalfields Market in London.
  • Advising a construction joint venture involved in the delivery of part of the HS2 project on a substantial variation and settlement agreement in respect of a design services subcontract.
  • Advising a UK contractor on the purchase of a rail business from an insolvent contractor.
