LOS ANGELES – Mayer Brown partner Paul de Bernier has been named to LA Times Studios’ 2026 list of “Legal Visionaries,” which spotlights the “best and brightest in a large and highly competitive world of Southern California professionals” who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their practice, their firm, and the community. 

Paul co-leads Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice (comprising M&A, investment funds, and technology transactions).

Paul advises sponsors, developers, strategic investors and other institutional clients on M&A, private equity and strategic investments, including minority and controlling investments, co-investments, joint ventures and acquisitions. Paul has particular experience in complex cross-border transactions involving major investors into California and the broader US market, including investors from Japan, Korea and Europe, all of which continue to play an increasingly important role in the California economy.

Paul’s industry focus is closely aligned with sectors that are central to California’s economy and long-term development priorities, including infrastructure, renewable energy, and critical minerals. This includes work involving data centers, energy storage, digital infrastructure, power and broader energy transition projects. Paul also has a focus on sports, media and entertainment, industries that remain core drivers of the Southern California market.
