A Mayer Brown trial team led by Jamie Beaber brought home a nearly $112 million verdict for client Maxell in patent litigation against Samsung Electronics. Last week, federal jurors in Texarkana, Texas, found that Samsung devices infringed three Maxell patents covering technologies including video and photo playback and networking. The jury based damages on a 1% running royalty through the trial date. The Mayer Brown team included partners Alan Grimaldi, Kfir Levy, James Fussell, Saqib Siddiqui, Bryan Nese, Michael Lindinger, Robert Pluta, and Amanda Streff Bonner, counsel Tiffany Miller, Paul Baldine, and Alison Gelsleichter, and associates Clark Bakewell, Seth Bruneel, Séké Godo, Tariq Javed, Courtney Krawice, So Ra Ko, Tatsuya Koyama, and Maggie Vander Woude in the firm’s Washington DC and Chicago offices.
