Mapping the World: Regulatory Inventories and Bank Risk Management

Share

FSRE associate Matthew Bisanz (Washington DC) will speak on an ABA webinar about how regulatory change management has evolved to include inventorying of the legal requirements that apply to a financial institution. Regulatory inventory practices vary widely in format and detail, but often include (i) mapping of processes, products, and relationships within an institution; (ii) identification of the legal requirements that apply to the process, product, or relationship; and (iii) development and implementation of controls to ensure the process, product, or relationship complies with the identified legal requirements. Mr. Bisanz and the other panelists will explain what a regulatory inventory is, discuss how it is used within a financial institution’s risk management system, and provide insights on some of the common issues that institutions encounter when establishing their inventories.
