Chris Williams’ practice includes advising employers, contractors, and consultants in relation to all forms of construction related disputes such as termination, final accounts, valuation, defective works, and delay. He has represented clients in a range of dispute resolution processes, including arbitral, court, mediation and adjudication proceedings. Chris’s experience includes disputes regarding a variety of projects, including wind farms, student accommodation, and chemical processing plants. He has also advised clients in relation to procurement, public law, and competition disputes.

Experiencia

  • Representing an unincorporated joint venture (acting as the project’s main contractor) in ICC mediation and arbitration proceedings concerning the valuation of a sub-contractor’s final account for works on the upgrade and expansion of a Middle Eastern oil refinery.*
  • Advising a contractor in multiple adjudications concerning the termination of a subcontractor’s subcontract and sums owed to the contractor arising out of the termination.*
  • Representing a real estate developer in an adjudication concerning defective works at a portfolio of student accommodation.*
  • Advising a major corporate concerning the prospective suspension and/or termination of a FIDIC contract following civil unrest in Myanmar.*
  • Advising a water park owner in a Hong Kong-seated HKIAC arbitration against its lead design consultant.*
