Steven Wilson is a partner in the London office of Mayer Brown and a member of the firm's Global Energy Group.  He focuses on cross-border energy M&A, liquified natural gas (LNG) transactions and industry-specific complex commercial contracts across EMEA, Asia, the US, Latin America and the UK / North Sea.

Steven has extensive experience advising IOCs and NOCs, commodity traders and portfolio companies on complex, high-value transactions spanning the energy value chain, including upstream oil and gas, oilfield services companies, LNG, refineries and petrochemical facilities, pipelines and storage and conventional power, as well as energy transition and energy-related infrastructure.

Steven previously spent time on secondment at BG Group and ENGIE.

Experiencia

Upstream

  • A supermajor in relation to its exit from the UK North Sea, including the divestment of producing gas assets and interests in an onshore gas processing terminal.
  • An independent E&P company on its proposed acquisition of producing assets in Egypt and Iraq.
  • A private equity firm on the potential acquisition of onshore oil and gas assets in Egypt.
  • ShaMaran Petroleum Corp. on its acquisition of TAQA Atrush B.V., and subsequent sale of an indirect interest in the Atrush Block, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to HKN Energy.
  • ShaMaran Petroleum Corp. on the signed acquisition of 100% of the shares of TEPKRI Sarsang A/S, the holder of an 18% participating interest in the Sarsang Block located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, from TotalEnergies.
