Jennifer routinely advises clients ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations on US forced labor law requirements and compliance with US import laws and regulations, including tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, preferential duty treatment, and application of Section 301 duties. She represents clients in customs and trade remedy matters before various US government agencies, and has experience conducting internal investigations into companies’ compliance with international trade laws and regulations, preparing prior and voluntary self-disclosures, and identifying solutions to proposed government penalties.

Experiencia

  • Represented an industrial machinery and equipment manufacturer in an informal US Customs audit, which included conducting an internal audit of the company’s tariff classifications and Section 301 compliance, identifying red flags, and advising the client on best practices moving forward.
  • Successfully protested US Customs’ reclassification of a US manufacturer’s imported articles, leading to millions of dollars in duty savings to the client.
  • Advised a global consumer product manufacturer on the marking requirements of its product.
  • Drafted risk-based forced labor compliance policies for electronics manufacturer operating in high-risk areas.
