Gina M. Aiello

Gina serves as National Coordinating Counsel for multiple companies involved in nationwide litigation, including Union Carbide Corporation (a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company) in connection with litigation arising from its historic sales of asbestos-containing products. Her recent representations also include defending The Big Ten Conference in concussion-related multidistrict litigation brought by former NCAA football student-athletes in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; representing Veolia North America and affiliated entities in environmental, water, and public infrastructure litigation, including the Flint, Michigan water contamination litigation in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; defending major medical device manufacturers in litigation involving FDA-approved implantable cardiac and other medical devices; and representing leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies in complex litigation, including opioid-related matters.

Gina plays a leading role in developing and executing coordinated national defense strategies in thousands of lawsuits pending throughout the United States. She manages nationwide litigation teams, coordinates the efforts of regional and local counsel, oversees complex discovery and motion practice, prepares key corporate and expert witnesses, and regularly serves on trial teams as a designated trial lawyer in cases involving alleged damages ranging from millions to billions of dollars.

Gina handles matters involving complex scientific, technical, regulatory, and causation issues and works closely with industry experts, engineers, physicians, and other specialists in developing defense and trial strategies. She also has experience managing parallel proceedings involving overlapping civil, regulatory, and reputational risks, and advising clients on litigation strategy in matters with significant operational and business implications. In addition, Gina has experience representing clients in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings involving complex commercial and product-related claims.

Gina was named to Benchmark Litigation’s 2024 and 2025 “40 & Under” lists, which recognize leading litigation attorneys across the United States and Canada.
