Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

This week’s American Lawyer Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs recognized Mayer Brown with a shout-out for a significant litigation victory.

Shout-Out: A Mayer Brown team led by partners Matt Ingber and Allison Aviki helped Spotify defeat a proposed class action alleging the company negligently turned a blind eye to billions of bot-driven streams that deprived artists and rights holders of royalties. US District Judge Josephine Staton granted Spotify’s motion to dismiss the first amended complaint, rejecting the plaintiffs’ negligence and California Unfair Competition Law claims and dismissing the case with prejudice. The Mayer Brown team also included associates Ben Bright and Jane Tullis.
