Mayer Brown announces that Thomas Horenkamp has joined the firm as partner in the Corporate & Securities practice in Chicago, along with counsel Adam Arnett. They join from White & Case LLP.

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Tom as another key step in building our sophisticated private equity offerings, with a focus on M&A and investment work for private equity sponsors,” said Jodi Simala, a co-leader of Mayer Brown's global Corporate & Securities and M&A/Private Equity practices. “Tom’s extensive experience, including representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies in complex transactions, will be valued by the firm and our clients as we continue the expansion of our private equity capabilities in Chicago and globally.”

Both Mr. Horenkamp and Mr. Arnett focus on M&A and securities transactions for private equity clients, as well as a range of US and international companies. They regularly advise clients on a variety of acquisition and sale transactions, securities offerings, securities law compliance and general corporate matters in a number of industries, including food and consumer products, energy, industrial products, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing and media/Internet.

“There are a number of factors that influenced our attraction to Mayer Brown, the list of which grows with nearly every interaction that we have with Mayer Brown attorneys,” said Mr. Horenkamp. “Some of the key drivers of my interest include the firm’s significant presence in Chicago and globally, its reputation for quality legal services, and its growing team of top-notch legal talent to service the private equity industry.”

“This pair brings strong experience representing clients in complex private equity and M&A transactions, while continuing our substantial growth in Chicago and expanding our ability to serve clients across multiple products,” added Britt Miller, the managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Chicago office.
