Mayer Brown announced that Richard Snyder joined its Antitrust & Competition practice as a partner in Washington DC, where he will focus on antitrust litigation and regulatory matters. He joins from Freshfields.
“Rich’s experience representing companies in litigation, global merger control and cartel matters grows our capabilities for clients across industries,” said Britt Miller, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Antitrust & Competition practice.
“With increasing enforcement activity, Rich’s experience in successfully handling antitrust matters in strategic transactions and before various government agencies will be invaluable to our clients,” added William Stallings, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Antitrust & Competition practice.
Rich represents clients in civil antitrust litigation in both federal and state court and appears regularly before the US Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission in merger reviews, criminal antitrust investigations and other conduct matters. In addition, he has deep experience coordinating global merger control strategy and execution, global cartel defense and global private damages litigation strategy. He has a particular focus on the Latin American merger clearance process and has represented clients in commercial and class action antitrust litigation in a variety of industries including publishing, airlines, auto parts, electronics components, pharmaceuticals and supermarket products.
“It’s exciting joining a top flight antitrust team comprised of the industry’s leading regulatory insiders and litigators—handling some of the world’s most high-profile cases,” said Rich. “Mayer Brown’s growing Antitrust & Competition practice, including the firm’s complementary corporate and appellate capabilities, is ideally suited to deliver the full suite of strategic advice and representation that clients require.”
“Rich’s arrival enhances our antitrust litigation and regulatory capabilities in Washington, which is one of our core practices,” said Liz Stern, the managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office.
