Anti-Money Laundering Compliance for the Real Estate Practitioner

On October 6, 2022, FSRE partners Brad Resnikoff and Matthew Bisanz will speak on a panel about the trend toward imposing anti-money laundering (AML) compliance obligations on those who advise on and participate in commercial real estate transactions, including brokers and agents, lawyers, managers and corporate services providers. Because commercial real estate intermediaries often are not financial institutions, they may not be familiar with the intrusive nature of AML information collection and reporting requirements. During this program, we will discuss:

• Continued expansion of geographic targeting orders for certain real estate transactions
• Proposed reporting requirements for all non-financed real estate transactions
• Application of the reporting requirements of the Corporate Transparency Act to commercial real estate holding vehicles
