Thiago Garcia advises domestic and multinational clients on labor and corporate immigration matters, with strategic expertise in managing employment relations in Brazil. He has solid experience in structuring and strategically reviewing employment agreements and internal policies, collective bargaining, global mobility and international employee transfers, including executive and director expatriation processes, as well as in supplementary pension matters and advisory on diversity, equity, and inclusion. He also represents clients in high-complexity labor litigation before judicial and administrative bodies and handles labor aspects of corporate transactions, ensuring a technical, preventive approach aligned with corporate governance best practices.

Advised:

• Strategic labor advisory on the structuring and implementation of large foreign companies’ operations in the energy sector in Brazil, covering labor and immigration compliance, occupational health and safety, compensation structures, and collective bargaining, with a focus on risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
• Experience in corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, leading HR integration, policy harmonization, review of labor liabilities, and alignment of corporate practices.
• Management of high-stakes and complex labor litigation for companies in the oil and gas, energy, agribusiness, banking, and capital markets sectors, including sensitive, reputation-impacting matters and class actions.
• Representation in administrative proceedings before the Labor Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Labor and Employment, involving sensitive issues such as discrimination, compliance with legal quotas (people with disabilities and rehabilitated workers), union representation, and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Corporate immigration and international mobility advisory, managing the expatriation of directors and employees of multinational companies in the oil and gas and energy sectors, including contractual framework structuring and regulatory compliance.
• Collective bargaining and implementation of Profit-Sharing Plans (PLR) and normative instruments, with strategic union engagement for companies in the energy and education sectors.
• Structuring and reviewing employment agreements and individual instruments, job and salary plans, HR policies, and internship programs, with a focus on governance, internal equity, and prevention of labor liabilities.
• Advisory on the transition and governance of supplementary pension plans for a large company in the oil and gas sector.
