Aymeric de Moncuit

A partner in the Antitrust & Competition practice in the Brussels and Paris offices, Aymeric combines experience gained within European institutions, national authorities, and private practice. Before joining Mayer Brown in 2022, he served as a Référendaire at the General Court of the European Union, following earlier roles as a competition lawyer and as a permanent case handler at the French Competition Authority. Over the course of his career, he has worked on major cases at both the French and EU levels.

Aymeric has extensive knowledge of EU competition rules, including merger control, cartels, competitor collaborations, vertical agreements, abuse of dominance, and State aid. He also advises on key regulatory frameworks relevant to the technology sector, notably the DMA, the DSA, and AI-related issues. He has unparalleled experience in litigation before the CJEU and also represents clients in proceedings before the EUIPO. He is recognized for his ability to navigate complex European legal environments.

Aymeric frequently speaks at conferences in France and across Europe and lectures on Competition Law at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.

Merger Control

• Represented Generali RE and Munich Re in connection with the acquisition of Saxon Land, a real estate investment company.
• Represented Generali funds on a co-investment transaction and joint venture in One Fen Court, a newly-developed office tower in London’s insurance district, with German insurer Munich Re.
• Represented a major Japanese trading company in connection with the acquisition of a controlling interest in a mining company.

• Advised various manufacturers on the implementation of their distribution network in France and the EU.
