Jason Coffey is counsel in the Firm’s Litigation and Government Contracts practice. He counsels clients in a variety of complex government contracting matters, with an emphasis on the defense, aerospace, technology, and infrastructure sectors. Jason represents clients in federal and state forums in disputes including bid protests and contract appeals.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Jason was an active duty Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army, serving as a contract litigation trial attorney at the US Army Legal Services Agency. In this capacity, Jason defended bid protests before the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Court of Federal Claims. Jason also represented the Department of the Army in all aspects of Contract Disputes Act litigation before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals; including motions practice, depositions, and alternative-dispute resolution. In addition, as a Judge Advocate, he has also served as a criminal prosecutor, prosecuting complex litigation cases and as an regulatory attorney and ethics advisor. During his military career, Jason deployed twice to Iraq where he served in a variety of roles, including national security law attorney and overseas claims officer. Earlier in his military career, Jason served in the United States Marine Corps.
