Abigail Appel

Abby Appel is an associate in Mayer Brown's San Francisco office and a member of the Real Estate practice. Abby represents institutional investors, real estate funds, and owner/operators in a broad range of complex real estate transactions. Her experience spans acquisitions and dispositions of multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and hotel properties, as well as the structuring and financing of large-scale developments, including joint ventures, mezzanine and mortgage financings, and co-lender arrangements.

She also advises on hotel management, franchise, and branding agreements, as well as the formation of investment vehicles and fund structures for real estate investment managers. Notable matters include counsel on sales and acquisitions of multifamily and mixed-use properties across the U.S., the acquisition and financing of luxury resort and hotel properties, and development projects involving residential and hospitality components domestically and internationally.

In 2024, Abby was on secondment at BXP, where she worked on a variety of real estate matters and real estate related contracts including commercial leasing, licensing, development, property management, and agreements to provide services.
