Scott Liebman appointed co-leader of Life Sciences and leader of FDA Regulatory and Enforcement practice

NEW YORK and WASHINGTON DC – Mayer Brown announced today that Scott Liebman and Dominick DiSabatino have joined the firm as partners in its Life Sciences practice. Both join from Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, where Scott was co-leader of the Life Sciences practice and leader of the FDA practice. They specialize in FDA rules and regulations and further strengthen Mayer Brown's capabilities advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, and digital health companies on complex regulatory, transactional, compliance, and enforcement matters. Scott will be based in New York and Washington DC, while Dominick will be in Washington DC.

The additions reflect Mayer Brown's continued investment in the life sciences sector, where rapid scientific innovation, evolving regulatory requirements, acceleration in deal velocity, and increased government scrutiny continue to drive demand for sophisticated legal counsel.

“Scott and Dominick are exceptional lawyers whose practices align with growing client needs across the life sciences industry,” said Michael Olsen, co-leader of Mayer Brown's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “Their expertise enhances our ability to advise clients on the complex regulatory, compliance, transactional, and enforcement issues they face and further strengthens our multidisciplinary life sciences platform.”

Scott joins Mayer Brown as co-leader of the firm's Life Sciences practice and leader of its FDA Regulatory and Enforcement practice. He brings decades of experience advising life sciences companies on FDA regulatory matters, compliance, enforcement, product development, investigations, transactions, M&A, in/out licensing, and other strategic business initiatives.

Dominick advises life sciences companies on a broad range of matters, including complex FDA regulatory issues, R&D and commercial strategy and contracting, product launch readiness, internal and governmental investigations, corporate transactions, and enterprise-level healthcare compliance programs.

"The life sciences industry is facing increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory, compliance, and enforcement challenges that require practical, business-focused advice," said Scott. "Mayer Brown's depth across litigation, investigations, regulatory counseling, and transactions creates a compelling platform for helping clients navigate those challenges. Dom and I are excited to join the firm and continue building its Life Sciences practice."

"Scott and Dominick bring a leading life sciences practice to Mayer Brown, adding a significant new capability to our platform," said Allison Aviki, managing partner of Mayer Brown's New York Office. "They are highly regarded advisors whose experience and relationships will be an immediate asset to our clients. Their addition further expands our presence in the life sciences industry at a time of significant innovation and growth."
