SALT LAKE CITY – Mayer Brown announced today that Larissa Lee has joined the firm in Salt Lake City as a partner in its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. She joins from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and continues the trend of successful tech litigators that have departed that firm to join Mayer Brown in recent years, following partners Tony Weibell and Sophia Mancall-Bitel in California.

“Larissa is a well-regarded litigator and counselor in data privacy, internet, and consumer class action matters with deep experience advising the world’s leading tech companies through some of their most sensitive and complex matters,” said Michael Olsen, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “Her combination of proactive counseling and specialization in emerging data privacy laws, makes her an outstanding addition to our practice and a tremendous resource for our clients.”

Larissa advises the world’s leading companies on cutting-edge issues related to emerging laws and regulations affecting tech companies. These range from issues related to minor safety—such as age verification, parental consent, and parental tools—to privacy, content moderation, advertising, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence. She offers a full lifecycle service starting with tracking emerging bills that could impose new compliance obligations, legal analysis of passed laws, risk analysis on compliance, litigation strategies and representation, and appeal. Previously, Larissa served as a law clerk to Judge Carolyn B. McHugh of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and to Justice Christine M. Durham of the Utah Supreme Court.

"Laws and regulations targeted at tech companies have exponentially increased over the past few years, and companies need legal counsel that can navigate these issues from bill introduction, through compliance planning, litigation, and appeal,” said Larissa. “Mayer Brown's robust data privacy litigation and counseling practice brings a comprehensive and integrated approach to these challenges — a combination that is unmatched in the market. I am proud to join a team that is already at the forefront of protecting clients from the legal and business risks of an ever-evolving threat landscape."

“We are thrilled to have Larissa join us as we continue to grow our Salt Lake City office,” said Aaron Murdock, the managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Salt Lake City office. “Larissa's experience defending internet-related class actions — an area of growing demand in Salt Lake City and across the country — further strengthens our litigation bench, and significantly enhances our technology and data privacy offerings."
