Mayer Brown partner Lauren Shurman named a 2026 “Woman to Watch” by Utah Business

SALT LAKE CITY Mayer Brown partner Lauren Shurman has been named among Utah Business’ 2026 list of "Women to Watch," which honors 40 of the state's most influential female business leaders. 

As a Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner in Mayer Brown's Salt Lake City office, Lauren focuses her practice on complex commercial and employment litigation, where she guides businesses through high-stakes disputes.  She also serves as an employment specialist on complex transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and venture capital financing, performing diligence on employment-related risks and assisting with post-deal integration issues. Her clients range from technology innovators to energy companies, reflecting her ability to master diverse industries and deliver results across sectors.   

In addition to her client work, Lauren has served as president of Women Lawyers of Utah and the Salt Lake County Bar Association. Recently, she was appointed by the Utah Supreme Court to chair its Professionalism and Civility Counseling Board. Her service to the Bar also includes serving on the Character and Fitness and Model Utah Jury Instruction committees. Utah Business recognized Lauren’s pro bono work with the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center in the case of Gordon v. State of Utah, where she recently helped to secure the vacatur of a wrongful homicide conviction.
